This little dead end at the edge of town has gone through a lot of transformation. The “tubes” - gigantic, rusting metal tubes that CalTrans used to store here around 2012 or so - are gone, but left their name behind. The unauthorized concrete skatepark remains. The grasses and weeds return perennially, and the litter drifts in and out on the wind. Activities that are only allowed to exist in the margins leave their marks here.
